SUMMARY:

ACT 1:

Danny Blackstone is an acting teacher with eleven adult students. He's a wonderful teacher, well liked by his students, but Danny has one problem. He has developed an obsession for death. This comes across in the assignments and exercises he gives his students. He gives Tarot readings to his students after class and to himself in private to see what his future holds, if he has one. The final assignment for his class, which will determine 50% of the students' grades, will take place at a party at Danny's house, beginning at 8:00 pm on the last night of class. This is all explained to them at the end of Act One. Each student must come to the party dressed as their favorite dead celebrity born under their sign of the zodiac. Not only are they to come dressed as this person, they must talk like them, and talk only about things that person would talk about. They must stay in character from the time they arrive until the time they leave. They also must bring food or drinks, keeping their character in mind.

ACT 2:

At 7:00 on the night of the party (an hour early), Danny's doorbell rings. He answers the door to find Mae West, John Lennon, Moe Howard, and other surprise guests. The interaction of the characters is interesting to say the least. Towards the end, a toast is made to a successful party. A bottle of a seemingly harmless liqueur is used, which unbeknownst to Danny, contains almond extract, to which he is deathly allergic. He has a reaction, and realizes that it is quite serious. He tells his guests that he needs a doctor immediately or he will die. No one reacts or attempts to help Danny. Jimmy Stewart begs the other guests to help Danny, saying that what's happening is wrong. Danny is too young to die, and somebody must help him. The other guests refuse, saying that it is Danny's time, and there is nothing that can be done for him. Danny discovers that these are not his students. It was no mistake that they arrived an hour early. These indeed are the people they appear to be, and are The Welcoming Committee to welcome Danny too "the other side." Danny's obsession with death was no accident either. He's more in tune with himself than most people - to the end......*END
