Joe Spencer Bio
Since graduating from California Institute of the Arts in 1997, Spencer has had his plays produced in both Los Angeles and New York. In addition, his most recent work, Treading Water was a finalist for the 1999 season at the Ensemble Studio Theater, being narrowly edged out by famous playwrites such as David Mamet, Arthur Kopit, Arthur Miller, and Elaine May. His work has been called "brutally honest", "hip", and "uncompromising". Currently, Spencer is working with the acclaimed Theater of Note in Los Angeles on their production of Cahuenga Passages. He is also in rehearsal for a solo presentation of his three character one act, Momma's Boy. As an actor, Spencer has appeared in over twenty stage productions throughout the LA area, as well as a handful of independent films, most notably Dregs, with Jenna Elfman. He is also proud of the fact that he pistol whipped and abused hostage David Hasselhoff on Baywatch Nights.
