BIRDBATH closely focuses on the relationships of man's meaning to his natural environment. Brother Simone, a large ominous figure cloaked in a brown frock who wanders about the gardens until the final scene when he helps to reveal a truth that might have gone unnoticed. Little Wing, an American Indian Mystic, frail, aging, yet resounds a great truth as she communes with the devas and nature spirits surrounding the gardens. John Solomon, keeper of the Anderson Inn and link to the metaphysical reality who serves as a conduit for the cosmic intercession of the following characters whose spirits visit for the scientific experiment: Carl Jung, John Lennon, Tennessee Williams, Albert Einstein, and Pope Gregory. Grace Solomon, John's wife, a vibrant woman, sensuous and compassionate, with a mystical aire about her discerning movement. Allistair Hawkins, visitor to the Anderson Inn, a weary traveler who sought momentary repose from his mountain climbing adventure only to find himself to be the subject of transcendental research. Allistair is world renown chemist, with an interest in the alkaline relationship of acoustics within and beyond the confines of the physical body. His passion for nature and classical music brought him to this height in the hills, where he had planned to retreat in hopes to compose the perfect sonata for the true love of his life, his flute. He believes that he has discovered a new sound, a new vibratory frequency that could perhaps redefine music theory and also act as a social catalyst to raise the evolutionary consciousness of humanity, opening the door to its psycho-sexual-spiritual dimension....*END |
