Re: What do i need to know
I too suffered from the "lack of motivation" category. You are classic nuke. Scores and asvabs dont mean squat, do well in the program, then brag about it.

forget about studying, it wont help you with anything.

Re: Attend College During or after Training? Credit Transfer?
1) send in OCS packages as soon as you can.  you can apply yearly if youre not accepted the first go around.

2) You can put aside any notion of going to college while in a/power school/prototype. I "breezed through", but I would have been hard pressed ...

Re: Cradle to Grave - When should I start the hiring process

Re: Cradle to Grave - When should I start the hiring process
Can you be more specific on what you mean by application to starting work? I mean..., where? What jobs? Etc?

If you mean operations at a nuclear utility, no, it isn't too early. In fact, some ships have already set sail for this summer/fall class ups....

Re: Vogtle - Lodging
There is a great new campground opening up in about 3 weeks. Has shaded campsites and about 6 miles from the plant on River Road.
If you need info the guy in charge is Dee Melton 803-622-2080. This place is gorgeous if you want to use your camper.

Re: BAS in the pipeline/while attached to a carrier/sub

Re: PA No Longer Allows Federal M&IE Deductions

Re: PA No Longer Allows Federal M&IE Deductions
That sucks, there are a lot of nuclear plants in PA.

Re: Byron

It looks like the reactor is critical  Wink.  The "steam Pylons" are putting out lots of scary looking stuff.

PA No Longer Allows Federal M&IE Deductions
I stumbled across this today while going through the 2011 PA tax booklet. For 2011 and forward, PA does not allow a taxpayer to claim the federal meal rate - only actual expenses for meals. This applies to all business travelers including truckers.

p.s. regarding the math, if you get stuck, all the answers are on the multiple choice answers. If you get stuck, move on, and if you have time, go back and plug and chug. Works well for the algebra sections if you can work fast.
